IS A CUSTOM PAINTING THE RIGHT CHOICE FOR ME?
A custom, original painting is a great way to create your perfect piece that is tailored just for you. If you find yourself waiting and waiting for “the one” to come around from an artist, you will likely be waiting a really long time. Stephen Boren is currently accepting commissions and will fill up for the year quickly. Does your home, office, or business need a special, unique touch? With a commission, you can work directly with Stephen to custom the size, the colors/tones, frame, subject, etc. to match to your unique space. Or possible you have a loved one that you would like to give a special, meaningful gift to that will last a lifetime — even generations.
Is there a specific memory or experience that you have had that you want to capture on canvas? Maybe one of the most unforgettable powder days on your favorite mountain. Or a special trip your whole family took together. Or the first day you took your little one skiing or snowboarding. Or maybe a heli-skiing trip to Alaska that made your heart pound. Or perhaps it’s the simple moments you’ve spent with a loved on the slope or relaxing outside the lodge. Past creations have included many of these elements and even pets — the sky is the limit!

PAINT IN YOU OR YOUR FAMILY TO A CURRENT PIECE
If there is a piece Stephen already has that you love, Stephen can customize it to be you and/or your family in your own gear. Whether it’s an iconic image of a skier or snowboarder coming out of the “white room” that we can all relate to or your family walking across the street (as the famous Beatles album) to the slopes, Stephen will paint in your own skiis/snowboard, jacket, pants, goggles, etc. to be unique piece to you.

REFERENCE PHOTO
If you have a particular photo that you would like recreated as a fine art piece with even more vibrance, detail, and life, Stephen can use the photo (and other details you may want added) to create a truly unique painting for you. A reference photo helps Stephen to better conceptualize what it is that you are envisioning. Stephen wants to make sure that you absolutely LOVE your new original painting and that it is as close to (or better than) what you envisioned.

COMPLETE CUSTOM
Any idea that you have or imagination of what your perfect piece consists of can be brought to a reality. Maybe it is a memory that you have, a specific idea for a loved one, or a vision of what a perfect day or moment in the mountains looks like. Regardless of what you have in mind, Stephen can work with you to make your vision and idea a reality that fits your space and dreams.
COMMISSION PROCESS

Working together with a client to create a personal commission is one of my favorite aspects of being an artist. The process is simple and usually involves the following steps wether you want a complete custom piece, have a reference photo, or want one of my current pieces custom painted to be you/your family.

1. INITIAL IDEATION
Reach out to me to begin. You let me know what you have in mind - size, subject matter, price, color preference, custom features, etc. I will work with you to decide final size, colors to perfectly match your space.

2. SKETCHES AND REFINING
I will create a pencil sketch or two for your input. Sometimes the first sketch is exactly what you want and sometime it takes two or three sketches. The idea here is to work closely together with you to create just the right piece. Your input is very important to me.

3. SKETCH APPROVAL & ART PEICE CREATION
Once the sketch is approved, and the size and price agreed upon, you send me a check for 50% down and I get started. I'll let you know how long the piece will take to paint.

4. COMPLETED & DELIVERED
Once the commission is complete, it is then packaged and either hand delivered by the artist or shipped to the desired location. When you are perfectly satisfied with your new piece, the balance is due.
